Earlier this month I spoke with David Zelniker, author of Infinite Learner and founder of LOTI (which stands for Learning on the Internet) about Education-as-a-(necessary)-benefit.
I’ve spent my time since joining Chegg focused on skills education and the role education-as-a-benefit dollars play in educating Americans in the skills they need for the jobs they want.
We’re at a critical moment in history where a shift in how higher education/continuing education is being paid for is possible. Instead of taking out loans, or competing for scholarships, individuals employed by corporations can now leverage a different pool of funding and get degrees or credentials for free, paid for by their employer. This is a massive opportunity for many Americans, and also an opportunity for us to solve the talent crisis inflicting the labor market.
